Who we are
We are a husband and wife team at Grateful Homestead and Sawmill. In 2020 the world changed for most of us. It allowed us to begin to focus on woodworking and spending more free time in our woodshop. When we were asked to build a crib for our first Granddaughter, we struggled to find quality lumber for the project. As we began to research the process of milling and drying lumber, it became clear that this was something that we wanted to become involved in and focus on small scale quality product. We purchased a sawmill and began to mill and start the process of air drying the lumber. We built a small dehumidification kiln and began the learning the correct way to dry lumber. It has been a very educational process and we have produced some very nice lumber on a small scale. In early 2024, we decided to begin handcrafting products and attending some craft shows as a vendor. We have purchased a small CNC and are producing some of our products on it. We hope to expand into the custom furniture market and share our passion for woodworking with people in the area. Trust us to bring your woodworking dreams to life with the care and dedication that only a family-run business can deliver.
